This weekend marks my first week of having a blog that I am truly proud of. Emilybrungard.com is something that I feel a dedication towards–probably because it’s the first website that I’ve had that has a real domain name, and because I’ve shown it off to my friends and family. I also think that I’ve read enough to have a good idea of what I like and don’t like on other websites/blogs that I can make a really good product.
This weekend was family weekend at BSU, so my mom and dad drove about an hour to visit me. I’m so glad that they did. Although they were only here for a few hours, I had a really enjoyable time. I’m proud to show off my school to my family. They came and visited my dorm room, then we walked to Scheumann Stadium for the Ball State vs. Indiana State game. Unfortunately, BSU lost, but we went to a really yummy Mexican restaurant called Casa Del Sol in downtown Muncie for dinner. I’m so glad that I could spend some easy, stress-free time with my parents.
It’s pretty cool that I could show off BSU as mine. Since my parents didn’t go to BSU and my sisters aren’t old enough to go to college yet, no one in my family is familiar with the campus except for me. I felt like a mini tour guide for my mom and dad because of that. It’s really neat to feel like I’m teaching my parents something since they’re the ones who usually do the teaching. It was a great weekend and I can’t wait for them to come back next year for family weekend.
