I visited New York City for the first time in February of this year. While it certainly wasn’t my first experience using public transportation (I’d had San Francisco, Boston and Washington, D.C. to practice on), it was a learning experience. My favorite thing about being in big cities is the major use of Helvetica. This has to be my third or fourth post about Helvetica, so if you can’t tell that I like that font, I’ll tell you – I love it. The color scheme of the New York subways, as well as their use of Helvetica, makes my inner design fiend happy. I love the bright, pastel-like colors. It’s so simple, yet so widely recognized.
