Sure, digital programs have made it super easy for anyone to be considered an artist. You can use a bunch of abstract shapes in a design program to create a lifelike image if you have the right skills. Emphasis on “if you have the right skills.” As an amateur designer myself, I would say that I do not have the strongest digital illustration skills. I can work my way to a design that may or may not be what I wanted, but it takes a while. I’m forever envious of those who can pump out a beautifully thought out drawing in minutes. These designers get my creative juices flowing and inspire me to practice my digital design skills.
