Arguably one of the very best parts of summer time is the food. There’s an abundance of fresh food available – fruits and vegetables make up the bulk of those. We planted a garden this year and it’s full of carrots, squash, green beans, herbs and tomatoes, and I can’t wait until our plants start producing food. It’s exciting to see your plants go from seeds in a packet to delicious and nutritious food. It’s weird that I still get so excited about this stuff even though I grew up surrounded by fields that produced anything from oranges to corn to wheat.
