Some designers have become so widely recognized that people refer to the fonts they use as “the __ font,” with the blank space being filled by the designer’s name. Often, the designers do have their own personalized fonts. However, many similar fonts have been used to create renditions on the logos of famous designers. The “Homies” shirts that are popular on Etsy are a well-known play on the designer Hermés.
Other designers, like Céline and Prada are also well known for their fonts. Chanel, among many other designer brands, have created their own fonts and protect these fonts. You can’t buy them (at least not easily). I’m sure that this is to help prevent people using them to counterfeit items–completely understandable!
It’s amazing how just the name of a designer can transform the feeling of a photo. Add a hazy filter and a popular designer’s name and you’ve completely changed the mood of your picture. What was once simply a flower is now high class. A singer has become an icon. The power of a font is unmatched in situations like this.
