Pretzel rods are so last year.
Sweet, salty, chocolatey, nutty, minty… yum. Two words: make these.
They’re so easy, I don’t even know if I can really call this a recipe.
All you need to do is choose what kind of chocolate you want to dip your pretzels in, what toppings you want on your pretzels, and when you want to eat them – they’re that quick!
Chocolate Dipped Pretzels
- Dark chocolate chunks/chips/bit/morsels (why are there so many names?!)
- White chocolate chips
- Toppings of your choice (I chose crushed up candy canes, M&Ms, peanuts and almonds and Maldon flaked sea salt)
Chop up all of your toppings to your preferred size. Smaller is better – the pieces will stay on better if they’re smaller.
Melt white chocolate chips in the microwave, stirring every 15-20 seconds until completely melted. Be careful not to burn them!
Dip half of each pretzel in the white chocolate, then set on parchment paper, wax paper or aluminum foil to cool.
Melt dark chocolate chunks. After the first layer of chocolate has cooled, dip the pretzels again in dark chocolate. Add toppings to the dark chocolate layer. I’ve found that laying the pretzel back down on the wax paper and then adding the toppings is the least-messy way to top your pretzels.
Let cool and enjoy! See, how easy is this?!
